Good Mexican food. Gets a bit loud when it's full. Clean everywhere. Service seems to be authentic which adds to the atmosphere.

I heard a lot of great things about this restaurant, however I was not impressed at all! The food had no flavor and was not very hot when it got to the table. The only thing that I really liked was the queso dip and the size of the drinks that you get. The service was not bad. The restaurant could have been cleaner though. I only saw a couple of people actually working while others were sitting in a booth.

I moved here from Arizona, and after some sub par Mexican dining experiences, I walked into the door with low hopes. I needed enchiladas- enchiladas that did not suck. El Sazon delivered! We walked in, ordered, and we're on our wayhome with the #12 enchiladas, an El Sazon Burrito special, and a Quesadilla Rellena, in what seemed like some sort of record time. Got home to discover that they had added chips and salsa at no charge, like out West. Bonus! The burrito was almost an enchilada, as it had been smothered in cheese and baked. The husband still enjoyed it. The tasty tortillas and chips seemed homemade. The salsa had plenty of heat, but tasted a bit of cocktail sauce? We both loved the chicken filling, and felt less enthused by the ground beef option. I took a bite of beans first, and almost forgot I had an entre to eat as well. They were prepared well. I do not yet know what type of hot sauces they offer in house. We smothered ours in Valentina and Chipotle Cholula at home. Yum! I look forward to dining in the restaurant, and trying the nachos and chimichangas. I hear they serve beer! Defiantly check this place out when you are in the area!

Didn't have a lot of choices for Mexican food while visiting this area recently.. When I spotted El Sazon, I knew I had to give it a try. The chicken taco was great, and the beef taco was ok. The chips and salsa were excellent, and added a nice touch for a quick meal. I'm not likely to be back in this area, but I'd stop here again to try out the rest of the menu if I had the chance. Atmosphere: 3 Service: 4 Food: 3 Value: 3

Tried this place again after about 2 years. The portions are large and attractive but their food has no flavor. Ordered tacos and got some ground beef looking mixture which didnt taste like beef and HAD NO FLAVOR whatsoever. The sweet tea was horrible tasting and I even heard the table in front of us comment on the tea as well as tasting "funny"......we had to wait for a server, wait for utensils and felt by staff that we were a bother. I will not being going back.

This is EXCELLENT Mexican food. It is authentic and fresh! The service is quick and the food comes almost immediately after you order it! Most dishes come with a side of rice and beans... which are amazing, the rice is sweet and flavorful and blends wonderfully with the cheese and beans. The special dinner is a huge spread of LOTS Mexican of food... a taco, mild chile stuffed with cheese and fried, tamale, burrito, and more. They have flan and fried ice creams, both are wonderful. The flan is creamy and authentic and the fried ice cream delicious too! This place is wonderful and I highly recommend it!

HUGE portions of wonderfully tasty American-ized 'Mexican' food. Service is always fast & food arrives Hot. Waiters are unobtrusive. Great value if you're hankering for Mexican food! I'm definitely a returning customer.

For an authentic mexican experience, it was pretty good. The food was good and you got a lot for the price. I ordered the fajitas ($12). The amount was far more than I've ever had at other restaurants. Lots of onions and bell peppers mixed in with the chicken and beef, but I love those, so I can't complain. On the side, you get plenty of rice, beans, shredded lettuce, cheese, guacamole, tomatoes and sour cream. Homemade tortillas are really good and soft. The biggest downfall to El Sazon is that the tables are so close together. Don't go there to have a private conversation. It's almost like family style dining where many people sit at the same table. The service was good with the server continually filling the drinks and the food came out very quick and was very hot. Overall, very pleased with the place, although the seating is a large drawback.

Stopped here for a quick dinner on our road trip from Texas to New Market Virigina.Found them on Yelp phone app. It was abt 10-15 minutes off the main freeway but my husband and I wre craving mexican and really hungry! We started off with an order of guac which tasted homemade and delicious! My husband had "The Special" plate which had 5 or 6 items on it. It was absolutely HUGE and delicious. I had the combo fajitas with chorizo and it was also really good, but again a whole lot of food. Service was short and sweet, and our food came out of the kitchen very quickly. Servers were friendly but not very conversational, which was great for us. Everything tasted fresh and homemade.

Decent Mexican food, but nothing that was particularly impressive. The nachos are definitely the best deal. All the variations are good, and if you can't decide the El Sazon nachos are basically all the other thrown together with a mountain of lettuce dumped on top. The seating is very crowded, but they have plenty of tables for largish groups.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
